Back in August, exactly one year after the members of Alexisonfire announced they were going their separate ways, the band confirmed worldwide rumours of a 10th Anniversary Farewell Tour throughout December. Starting in the UK, ending in Canada, and touching down in South America and Australia in between for a total of only ten very special shows.

Chugg Entertainment can now confirm that progressive post-hardcore act House Vs Hurricane will be opening the stage for Alexisonfire on their two Australian shows on Tuesday 11th December at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion and Wednesday 12th December at Festival Hall in Melbourne.

The Melbourne outfit have a key-driven hardcore influenced sound which sees them matched perfectly to Alexisonfire. Following their 2008 debut EP Forfeiture and the positive reviews that followed, they followed up with their debut album Perspectives, furthering their reputation and taking their sound on tour across the European and UK circuits. Now, HvH, as their fans often refer to them, have completed their sophomore release Crooked Teeth which came out in July – an album steeped with energy, brimming with attitude and ideas, and full of high octane hooks.

Since debuting at #20 on the ARIA Charts, not only has the first single, Blood Knuckles being added to triple j high rotation, but the album has swept up a number of nominations. These include Best Hardrock/Heavy Metal album for the 2012 ARIA Awards, 2012 Jagermeister Independent Music Awards for ‘Best Independent Hard Rock or Punk Album’ and The Coopers Amp (Australian Music Prize for 2012. Not stopping there, the band will also be touring nationally on the 2013 Big Day Out and playing Pyramid Rock Festival on NYE.

The celebration of Alexisonfire’s successes is one not to be missed. With the Sydney show completely sold out, there are only tickets available for the Melbourne show. Get in fast.
