After a massive month in the US, that saw The Trouble With Templeton play 18 shows & showcases in 18 days to enraptured audiences, they are excited to announce their first Australian national headline tour as a 5-piece band, celebrating their most successful single to date, “SIX MONTHS IN A CAST”.
The extensive tour will see them playing 12 dates across 4 states. The band are excited to finally be playing their own shows giving some of their fans their first
opportunity to see the band live!
As an expansion of the once solo moniker of the supremely gifted Thomas Calder, The Trouble With Templeton has now expanded to a fully fledged 5-piece which finds his gothic folk introspection equally ratcheted up to a chilling, cinematic sound worth of his vision.

“SIX MONTHS IN A CAST” was ITunes Single Of The Week in September, reaching #4 on the AIR Independent Radio Chart thanks to strong support from Triple J & community radio nationally, while The Trouble With Templeton will be Feature Artist on Triple J Unearthed next week.
The band were recently announced as Triple J’s Harvest Festival Unearthed Winners, and will now play the festival in Brisbane alongside the likes of Sigur Ros, Grizzly Bear and Beck, on 18th November (full details here)
The band are also incredibly excited to announce they have been added to the bill for the legendary Falls Festival in Lorne,
Victoria. They will be playing the main stage on 29th December.
The band will also headline the “Communion Music Night”, to take place at The Toff in Melbourne on 25th November. The night started in London in 2006, established by Ben Lovett (Mumford & Sons), Kevin Jones and producer Ian Grimble, featuring the likes of Laura Marling, Mumford & Sons, Noah and the Whale, Matt Corby, and Boy & Bear.
The Trouble With Templeton’s frontman, Thomas Calder, has just returned from an incredible US trip, which saw him play solo shows for Filter Magazine’s “Culture Collide” Festival in Echo Park, LA, the “CMJ Music Marathon” in NY, and a swathe of private showcases at some of the biggest movie studios in the world.
Templeton also recently released an EP in the US in September called I Wrote A Novel, which was ranked #18 most added at College Radio, and has since had national radio play there. 2012 has so far has seen The Trouble With Templeton tour with Of Monsters & Men, Julia Stone, Husky, and Father JohnMisty to rave reviews, and “I Wrote A Novel” and “Six Months In A Cast” have had fantastic support from Triple J and community radio nationally, and the band were one of the highlights of BIGSOUND 2012.
