At the beginning of February 2003, My Disco performed two all ages shows at Good Morning Captain and Missing Link in their hometown of Melbourne, Australia to launch a demo cassette recorded a month earlier.
What was initially to be a short-lived project has now seen Ben Andrews, Liam Andrews and Rohan Rebeiro perform in almost thirty countries Worldwide, including the illustrious South East Asian “Claw”, the Russian Federation, the former Yugoslavia, Mexico and countless visits to North America, United Europe, New Zealand and of course Australia.
The band have since released three full-length albums – Cancer (2006), Paradise (2008) and Little Joy (2010) – on a variety of international and local labels, as well as countless singles and EP’s.
This February marks their tenth year as a band and they show no signs of slowing down, as the trio are currently working on a fourth album slated for a September 2013 release through Temporary Residence.
In addition to the forthcoming album, My Disco will release a new single in April through a well-respected North American label. Details to be revealed shortly.
To celebrate their milestone anniversary, My Disco will perform at the Corner Hotel, Richmond on Friday February the 8th, alongside an incredible line up of long time friends and respected members of the Australian music scene. Previewing new material, this will be one of few shows the band will play in 2013 and is definitely not to be missed!
