The explosion of live radio that is PBS DRIVE LIVE 2013 just got a whole lot juicier with the addition of some of Melbourne’s finest acts and a sneaky international surprise.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, superheroes of twisted psychedelic garage, and everyone’s besty on Facebook ,have been added to the line-up.

Other acts include the always amazing No Zu, the borderline pop genius that is Pikelet, two fuzzed out babes on a mission, Super Wild Horses, and pub crawling, local legends, The Meanies.

Brooklyn’s noise-punk act The Men, and Warragul’s greatest garage exports, The UV Race, have also been added to the already swelling bill.

Other gems weighing in are La Bastard, Fatti Francis and The Hello Morning. It’s rather mega!

From Monday February 4th to Friday the 8th during drivetime between 5 and 7pm, Drive Live is set to dominate the PBS studios once again, playing to both a live in-studio audience, and across the PBS airwaves.

The drill: three acts, three studios, one drivetime show for a full week, featuring blistering live in‐studio performances. Programmed like a radio show of long players, these aren’t the kinda gigs you’ll see at a regular show. It’s an intimate peek into a studio broadcast, plus there’s a host of excellent local food vendors including Beatbox Kitchen, Gumbo Kitchen, Taco Truck, White Guys Cook Thai and Lucky Pops, setting up shop at peebs for your chow down pleasure.

PBS members have dibs to come down with a guest and be a part of the mayhem, and sink some complimentary Coopers. Freeloaders, there might be a couple of spots left for you too, but audience pozies are strictly limited!! Get your name on the door asap at www.pbsfm.org.au, and join the convo on #drivelive.

Drive Live is a permanent fixture on the PBS calendar and part of PBS’ continued commitment to the growth and prosperity of the local music scene. The past roll call for Drive Live reads like a who’s who of Australian independent music, including Twerps, Gareth Liddiard, Bob Log III, The Murlocs, and Graveyard Train.
