With a number of Groovin’ The Moo acts already announcing sideshows including musical twins Tegan & Sara and LA rockers The Bronx, it comes as no surprise (but a great delight) that The Kooks have now announced a number of gigs while they’re in town for the regional festival.

At GTM, the band will play alongside the likes of other international acts The Bronx, Frightened Rabbit, Tegan & Sara, Matt & Kim  They Might Be Giants, and many more as well as local artists Tame Impala, The Temper Trap, and Flume, the inventive guitar rock of Last Dinosaurs and Hungry Kids of Hungary, Melbourne sextet Alpine, hardcore heroes The Amity Affliction, and that sure-fire of festival players, Regurgitator. Hip hop heads will also be sated by the appearance of Pez, Seth Sentry, Urthboy, and Tuka with Ellesquire.

The Brighton band of boys  are no strangers to Australia having appeared at Splendour In The Grass and 2011/2012 Falls Festival to much acclaim from their fans.

The four-piece also did a number of Falls sideshows including one at Melbourne’s Festival hall. Of the show, a Tone Deaf review said that the performance in early 2012 “showed off the group’s solid way with a song and a great understanding of melodic, guitar-based pop.”
