Its’ been a heady start to 2013 for Melbourne band Vaudeville Smash! Named by Inpress Magazine as one of the “Top 13 Bands To Watch in 2013”, the band kicked off the year in spectacular style with the release of the disco chic single, ‘Look At Me’ which was picked up and immediately premiered on Tone Deaf with an awesome response from media and fans.
Following the release of the single, the band (having been invited back) returned to play 7 astounding shows in Austin TX for South By South West before heading to Canada for a further 3 shows and a last stop in New York. With the bands return to home shores, they will hit the road throughout June for a string of live shows. To coincide with the upcoming showsVaudeville Smashare proud to announce the forthcoming release of their debut album Dancing For The Girl which will be released on April 26th.
Vaudeville Smash features three brothers. Marc, Dan and Luca Lucchesi’s dad sang Italian and Spanish folk songs and dug The Beatles. And their mum’s dad was the conductor of the Adelaide Latvian men’s choir and taught the kids classical piano.
Are the Lucchesis volatile, like the Gallaghers, or more mild-mannered, like the Farriss brothers?
“We’ve learnt to become more Farriss-like over the years,” Marc laughs, “but there’s no brawl like a brawl between brothers. We’ve actually had a couple of very heated arguments on stage. I think the punters think its part of the show – at least I hope they do. The good thing is, five minutes later you’re friends again.”
