The Nine Inch Nails & Queens Of The Stone Age Australian Tour 2014 has added dates due to popular demand.

Following tickets going on sale yesterday, overwhelming box office demand has seen second and final shows added for Sydney and Melbourne fans – on sale now – for the Nine Inch Nails & Queens Of The Stone Age Australian co-headline tour for March 2014.

Fans in Sydney score another concert on Friday 7th March at Sydney Entertainment Centre, while Melbourne fans have one last chance at tickets for Saturday 15th March at Melbourne¹s Rod Laver Arena.

Both shows are on sale at 9.30am from www.ticketek.com.au or 132 849. With no more dates to be added anywhere in Australia, fans should snap up tickets while they can!

Following on from the music trailblazers both teasing plans for a joint Australian visit, with nothing but artwork emblazoned with a simple but firm proposal: “Queens + NIN: Soon”, what is set to be one of the biggest tours of 2014 has been confirmed.

Both Trent Reznor’s industrial rock stalwarts and Joshua Homme’s desert rock desperados will be touring off the back of their respective latest release, Nine Inch Nails’ Hesitation Marks and Like Clockwork… from QOTSA

The massive co-headline Australian tour will be presented by the Frontier Touring Company, presenting two of the world’s most influential bands of the last decade joining forces for a massive double headline tour of Australia and New Zealand next March.

In what could arguably be described as one of the biggest double bills to ever reach our shores, QOTSA and NIN, joined by special guest Brody Dalle, will kick off this explosive tour at Sydney Entertainment Centre on Thursday March 6th 2014 and continue on around the country visiting Newcastle, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland and Christchurch. With the first headline band on stage being decided each night by the toss of a coin, fans will want to make sure they’re at the ready for a big night from the minute doors open.

QOTSA frontman Joshua Homme has been talking about an Australian tour off the back of QOTSA’s latest album since May, telling Triple J at the time they’d be skipping the Aussie summer festival season (including Soundwave) in favour of their own headline tour. ”Everybody who knows me knows that Australia is my home away from home,” said Homme. “I also think it’s time that we come and tell our own stories, so we’re gonna skip the round of festivals and see you in your fall [autumn].”

Following a series of critically acclaimed and culturally impacting albums, from 2002′s Songs For The Deaf, and further commercial success ensued with 2005’s Lullabies to Paralyze and 2007′s Era Vulgaris, it was with QOTSA album number six, this year’s Like Clockwork, that Homme and the current iteration of the Queens – veteran Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore – would come out bigger and better than ever.

Produced by the band at Homme’s Pink Duck studio in Burbank California, Like Clockwork (featuring Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor, as well as Dave Grohl, Elton John and a host of others) ended the longest ever gap between Queens albums with the band’s first ever #1 album in the U.S., with a first week tally nearly doubling that of Era Vulgaris – not to mention the most fawning critical notices of the band’s 17 year career.

Nine Inch Nails are considered a pioneer in the industrial music movement and have been highly influential in the evolution of electronic music. Their recordings – which include the US Platinum-certified Pretty Hate Machine (1989), Broken (1992), The Downward Spiral (1994) and With Teeth(2005) – have revolutionised detailed digital production. The band have sold more than thirty million albums worldwide, released a remarkable collection of singles and received two Grammy awards.

Nine Inch Nails were heavily rumoured as headliners for the Soundwave 2014 lineup, but it seemed that relations between NIN’s people and festival promoter AJ Maddah went sour, with the latter slagging off Reznor and co. in several public tweets.

Trent Reznor and co arrive off the back of their critically acclaimed album Hesitation Marks including the visually ambitious live show constructed by Nine Inch Nails for their world tour of Hesitation Marks

If that’s not enough to get your head around, Queens Of The Stone Age and Nine Inch Nails will also bring very special guest, Australian-born singer/songwriter/musician Brody Dalle along for the ride! Dalle will open the shows with a full band, playing a selection of songs from her extensive catalogue from her renowned punk rock bands The Distillers and Spinnerette and new songs from her fierce forthcoming solo album.

The relationship between these two rock powerhouse bands is no secret; they’ve played over thirty shows together in the United States in 2005 and have teamed up for several recordings together over the years, including an appearance by Reznor on ‘Kalopsia’ from Queens Of The Stone Age’s Like Clockwork.

It’s evident these two bands share a musical affinity and are prodigies of the live show. Australia and New Zealand, you had better secure your tickets because this is going to be one mammoth, mind blowing, live event of the year that you definitely don’t want to miss!
