XXYYXX Laneway Festival 2014 Sideshows have been announced, with the beatmaking prodigy playing exclusive headline shows to complement his appearance at the indie boutique festival next February.

XXYYXX is the obscure moniker for talented Floridian, 17-year-old Marcel Everett, who took the Australian electronic music scene by storm earlier this year with his sold-out national tour. Now the young avant-garde mood-maker is returning on the wave of global acclaim for his electronic mood setting.

Exploring cross sections of R&B, modern Hip-Hop and the brighter side of low-end UK sounds, XXYYXX has become an online sensation thanks to the video for ‘About You’ – reaching over 12 million hits on YouTube alone (watch below).

His material released exclusively on Relief in Abstract records, has since received acclaim from the music world’s tastemakers, drawing comparisons to J Dilla, James Blake and, in the case of Noisey, a “Web 2.0 version of Barry White”.

Bringing his intelligent brand of modern sounds to Melbourne and Sydney once again this February, XXYYXX provides a completely unique take on modern music that is unaided by the perils of age. Experience this one-off opportunity to see one of the rising stars of modern electronic music.
