The second Soundwave 2014 lineup, which was originally due to be announced on Friday (1st November), is now landing later this week and the hard and heavy festival’s promoter AJ Maddah has been busy teasing and even leaking some of his own second lineup announcement.

In the words of Maddah the entire second lineup announcement will add “20 bands” including a third headliner to join Green Day and Avenged Sevenfold in heading the bill. Maddah has already let slip that the announcement will include Devil You Know and Zebrahead, now we can add a third band to the lineup.

As FasterLouder reports, a tweet from “mega-fan” Tate Wilson about New Jersey pop-punk quartet I Call Fives playing on the bill has been retweeted by the official Soundwave twitter account, and even by Maddah himself, which pretty much confirms they’ll also be making an appearance down under this summer.

So what about the other 17 bands? Various tweets from the promoter has also ruled out the likes of Rammstein, the ‘outside chance‘ of Good CharlotteDef LeppardPapa RoachSkilletIn FlamesShinedown, as well as Soundgarden, Bullet For My Valentine, Slipknot and Rage Against The Machine.

As for who might be among the 20 or so bands for Friday’s Soundwave 2014 lineup announcement, rumours have pegged the the likes of Jimmy Eat World, and Panic! At The Disco, Black Veil Brides, Dillinger Escape Plan, Jimmy Eat World, funk metal eccentrics Primus, (refugees from the cancelled Harvest 2013 lineup), and Maddah cryptically putting chart-topping Perth prog specialists Karnivool in the mix, (“not likely at this point but not totally out of the question either”).

All three have yet to officially appear on the Soundwave 2014 lineup, despite each confirming their place on the tour ahead of the official lineup announcement.
