The Push Over 2014 lineup has landed and following on from last year’s 21st birthday bash, Melbourne’s favourite all ages music festival has pulled another huge list of bands.
With a selection of hardcore heroes, Aussie hip hop talent, punk, rock, and more, the full Push Over 2014 lineup offers something for every kind of music fan for its 22nd edition, taking place on the Labour Day Public Holiday of Monday 10th March, 2014 at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl
Leading a solid serving of Australia’s finest hip hop is the recently crowned Triple J Unearthed Artist of the Year Remi, along with Melbourne MC royalty Pez, rising star and mixtape sensation Allday, his friend and sometime collaborator Bam Bam, the multi-talented Chance Waters, and Ghana born, festival-ready rapper Citizen Kay.
Hardcore bands also form a strong contingent of the Push Over 2014 lineup, with the UNFD roster getting a good look-in, with several of the label’s bands playing the all ages festival.
There’s overseas-storming, ARIA-nominated six-piece Dream On Dreamer, indigenous charity helpers In Hearts Wake, as well as Deez Nuts, the might Buried In Verona, and the five-piece Saviour. Also on the heavier side of the spectrum is the passion-fuelled melodic hardcore of Sierra and Perth deathcore outfit, Make Them Suffer.
Also joining Push Over’s 22nd edition is Melbourne’s favourite sons, the Wil Wagner-fronted Smith Street band, alongside their good friends/labelmates/tour buddies, The Bennies, who have just delivered a winning album of self-described “psychedelic party reggae ska doom metal punk rock from hell” in Rainbows In Space – Tone Deaf’s current Album of the Week.
Rounding out the Push Over 2014 lineup, and offering some fine indie pop, is Brisbane’s Cub Sport (nee Cub Scouts) who have just completed trips to US, Europe, and a slot at New York’s illustrious CMJ conference; they’re joined by chilltronica producer Lucianblomkamp, Melbourne’s Outright, and raucous Tassie punks Luca Brasi.
Also on the epic bill are nine of the freshest young bands from across Victoria that will share the stage in the FReeZA Push Start Grand Final. As always the highly anticipated Push Underground Hip Hop Showcase will be taking place on the day featuring 35 Push It! Hip Hop break dancers, MCs and artists performing in battle and showcase events.
Push Over 2014 will also feature the the always fabulous food court and a chance for you to meet your favourite bands at the artist signing area.
Tickets to Push Over 2014 go on sale Thursday 28th November at 9am and are strictly limited.
Push Over is a fully supervised all ages drug/alcohol /smoke-free event managed by non-profit youth music organisation The Push.
