Disclosure Groovin The Moo 2014 Sideshows have been announced.
The Lawrence brothers – Guy and Howard – of Disclosure were last Down Under as one of the top-billed acts for last year’s inaugural Listen Out boutique dance festival, and return to Australian once more this April and May as part of the Groovin The Moo 2014 lineup tour.
Its now been confirmed that on top of the regional music festival appearance, Disclosure will be playing headline sideshows across the country, with special Aussie supports locked in for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth.
The Flume-approved Motez will open at Melbourne’s The Forum, while buzz-worthy Sydney production duo (and Triple J Next Crop pick) Wave Racer will provide support in Perth and Brisbane. Meanwhile, the Sydney date at Hordern Pavilion will also feature Wave Racer, along with opening sets from Touch Sensitive and Lancelot.
Disclosure took the electronic world by storm with the release of their Mercury Prize nominated debut album, Settle, which saw the UK siblings become one of the year’s most talked about breakout artists with hit singles such as (mildly controversial) London Grammar-featuring single ‘Help Me Lose My Mind’, and AlunaGeorge team-up ‘White Noise’. The latter also landed at #69 on the Triple J Hottest 100, the lowest ranking of three Disclosure cuts in the annual music poll – with Flume’s remix of ‘You & Me’ hitting #63 and ‘When A Fire Starts To Burn’ at #23.
The Lawrence brothers have continued to mine their knack for working with all-star guests. After ‘pulling a Daft Punk’ last November, working with Chic legend Nile Rodgers on a slinky new jam, Disclosure have since worked with neo-soul Queen Mary J Blige and A Tribe Called Quest MC Q-Tip. They’re also set to perform with Lorde at the BRIT Awards tomorrow night, where the Kiwi sensation and the duo are both nominated for multiple gongs.
The news of Disclosure Groovin The Moo 2014 Sideshows arrives following similar tour announcements from fellow GTM-billed acts, including NZ synth-rockers The Naked And Famous, UK grime scamp Dizzee Rascal, New York indie duo Cults, Melbourne singer-songwriter Vance Joy and mighty electro duo The Presets.
Meanwhile, the regional tour announced its first sell-out last week, with tickets now completely exhausted for the Bendigo leg of Groovin The Moo on its 10th Anniversary trip this April/May.
