Kasabian are set to head down under to play a one off gig in Melbourne for a credit card company. With their 4th studio album, Velociraptor!, set for release on 16 September, Kasabian are set to storm back on to the airwaves, with the first single Days Are Forgotten hitting radio this Friday, 29 July.
Kasabian’s last album, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum sold a million copies worldwide and saw them hit the stratosphere as one of the biggest bands in the world. No doubt you heard their anthem ‘Fire’, everywhere you went, while WRPLA also picked up a number of gongs, being voted Best Album by Q and nominated for the Mercury Prize, as well as picking up Best British Group at The Brits, Best Album at the NME Awards and a host of other nominations.
“The fact that we got kind of big off that record is amazing,” says the band’s songwriter/guitarist Serge Pizzorno. “West Ryder was our Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake. Everything about it was perfect. But we’ve done that now and it’s time to move on. We’ve upped the stakes.”
Tickets for the gig are only $35, but there’s a catch – you need one of those Mastercard Debit Cards to buy them. To see them at their show at Peninsula, Melbourne Docklands on Wednesday, 5 October, you have to go to www.mastercard.com.au/music and pre-register for an alert before 24 August.
Tickets are priced at $35 (limit 4 per person) and will be available from 9.00am AEST on 25 August. Tickets must be purchased with a Debit MasterCard. To get hold of a Debit MasterCard contact Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, Bankwest or Bendigo Bank and apply for access to future PricelessMusic experiences.
