Nina Las Vegas is one powerhouse of a woman! At 33, she already has her own record label, NLV, has hosted House Party on triple j for five years, produces and writes her own music, and has helped create the non-profit organisation, Heaps Decent.

We sat down with Nina recently to chat about her new single ‘Deserts’, her upcoming slot at Snowtunes festival, and her thoughts on being a woman in the music industry.

“It sucks but [women] need a bit more confidence because there’s less of us. So you have to find it, and you have to just push past that. You have to say what you want, maybe more times, but the end result will be worth it, because when things stand out they really stand out.

“You have to know that that kind of power, and your sex, can be a point of difference.”

Check out the full interview below, and catch Nina playing at Snowtunes alongside SAFIA, Gang of Youths, Drapht and a bunch more.
