Among all the doom and gloom of the world at present, Noel Gallagher has offered Oasis fans a glimmer of hope with the revelation that he would be releasing a previously unheard Oasis track today.

Taking to social media, Noel explained to fans that he discovered the golden nugget of a find while rummaging through his old CD collections.

“Like the rest of the world, I’ve had infinite time to kill lately so I thought I’d FINALLY look and find out what was actually on the HUNDREDS of faceless unmarked CDs I’ve got lying around in boxes at home,” the singer wrote in a note posted to Twitter.

“As fate would have it I have stumbled upon an old demo which I thought had been lost forever,” he continued, adding that the only version of the song that’s “out there” was from a “soundcheck in Hong Kong 15 years ago”.

”I know some of you love this tune so we thought we’d put it ”out there” for you to enjoy/argue over,” he said, adding:

”It’ll be up on the internet from midnight. The song is called: ‘Don’t Stop…'”

He continued, ”Hope everyone is staying safe and trying to ride out the lockdown with the minimum of fuss. You’re welcome by the way.”

For any fellow Aussies trying to work out when the tune drops in Down Under time, it should roughly be here at 9 am AEST on Thursday, April 30.

According to Oasis’ discography timeline, the demo would have been recorded around the time of their 2005 LP, ‘Don’t Believe the Truth’, which was released 15 years ago.

Oasis formed in 1991 and released seven studio albums, before abruptly splitting in 2009 following a backstage brawl between Noel and Liam Gallagher at their final gig in Paris. Their final song as a group was 2009’s ‘Falling Down’, which had been recorded before the bust-up.

To this day, the brothers continue to trade barbs over Twitter.
