With the upcoming release of the new Oasis documentary Supersonic, the folks over at the Astor Theatre are throwing a huge Britpop-inspired bash.

Screening as a part of the BBC First British Film Festival 2016, the night will feature a set by 6am at The Garage, spinning your favourite Brit-pop tracks, alongside gin & tonic specials at the bar, which will no doubt get you feeling at least a little supersonic.

From the very same Academy Award winning producers of Amy, Supersonic follows the phenomenal three-year rise of the Gallagher brothers and Oasis. From the release of their first single in 1994, right through to their career defining shows at the Knebworth Park in 1996, playing to an adoring 250,000 fans over two nights.

Featuring interviews with both Noel and Liam Gallagher, their mother and members of their road crew. The film takes a no-holds-barred approach to telling the rise and fall of one of Britain’s biggest bands.

This Melbourne Cup Eve, get your mum to give you her finest bowl-cut, pull out your trainers and pop on your nicest polo shirt before you head on down to the Astor Theatre. Tickets are available now through the Astor Theatre’s website.
