After yesterday regaling us with a rant at Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, with whom he shared an airport shuttle in Barcelona and which made him want to strangle the hip hop collective, super producer Steve Albini has been dubbed ‘Old Ass’ by front man Tyler, The Creator.
The producer of acts such as PJ Harvey, the Pixies and Nirvana had dubbed the group ‘little pricks’ for their behaviour; which included swearing, abusing passengers and smoking dope on board, saying that by the end of the short journey he wanted to ‘strangle them’.
Tyler has hit back at Albini, saying via his preferred method of Twitter “Feel Like I Have To Defend Myself. 1 Idk Who The Fuck Steve Albino Is 2. I Dont ‘Nigger Everything Insight’ 3. I Never Say Fuck U To Drivers. 4. We (odd future) Never Discuss How Much We Are Making A Show In Public, Ever”.
Having defended himself of sorts, Tyler couldn’t help but then have a dig at Albini, firstly having a go at him for playing in a controversially named band in the 1980s named Rapeman (ironic as much of the controversy behind Tyler’s lyrics is a result of his constant references to rape) and then having a dig at him for being – wait for it old!
Tyler’s riposte to Albini’s attack on Odd Future concluded with the following gem. “5. Me Nor Anyone i Know In My Age Group Know Who You Are, Old Ass. Surprised You Knew how To Use A Computer.” Ouch, that’s telling him Tyler. It’d be fun if Albini responded but alas, he probably knows it’s best to let sleeping dogs lie now.
