One of the most iconic musicians in Australian history, Paul Dempsey, has announced an intimate acoustic hometown show for this November.

For more than 20 years now, Paul Dempsey has asserted himself as one of the greatest performers and songwriters that this country has ever produced. From his role as the frontman of Something For Kate, to his equally-brilliant solo career, there’s no doubt that a performance from Dempsey is a truly special experience.

Having spent most of the last year touring around the world while working on new music for the upcoming Something For Kate record, Dempsey’s Aussie shows haven’t been as forthcoming as they usually would be. Sure, there’s been a few regional shows around the place, but his city-dwelling fans haven’t seen the iconic muso as often as they’d like.

Now, following the completion of his upcoming European and South American tour, Paul Dempsey has announced a special one-off acoustic performance at the Melbourne Recital Centre for this November.

Taking place on November 14th, this intimate hometown show will see Paul Dempsey coming back to where it all began to pick from his back catalogue of stunning tunes in front of an eager crowd.

“Hometown shows are always special and I’m particularly excited about this one,” explains Dempsey of the performance. “It’s about bloody time I gave my audience an opportunity to enjoy the music in a stunning acoustic environment whilst (hopefully) wearing something nice and reclining in a well-designed chair at a perfectly reasonable hour on a school night.”

Supported by Melbourne’s Ro, this show is set to be an immensely unique experience, with fans getting a rare opportunity to see Dempsey in his stripped-back, acoustic form. Tickets to this special show go on sale at 10am, on Thursday, August 24th.
