Australia’s favourite son, Paul Kelly, is back at it again, helping you ease into the holiday period with his annual run of Making Gravy shows.

For a few years now, Paul Kelly has given his loyal fans a treat with the annual Making Gravy concert series. Named for his 1996 single ‘How To Make Gravy’, the shows take place in the lead-up to Christmas, and see Kelly performing alongside some of the finest musicians this country has to offer.

Following a successful run in 2018 (though Melbourne’s concert saw the gravy watered down a tad), Paul Kelly has now unveiled the dates and lineup for the highly-anticipated run of shows for 2019.

Kicking off on December 7th, this year will see Paul Kelly make some gravy for his Perth fans for the first time, before heading along to Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, with the latter taking place on December 21st, “Gravy Day” itself, according to the song!

This year will see Paul joined by stunning lineup of Courtney Barnett, Kate Miller-Heidke, and Marlon Williams, who will also help warm the crowds up with a series of phenomenal performances. Sydney fans are in for an extra special treat though, with Thelma Plum joining the bill to showcase songs from her latest album, Better In Blak.

The news doesn’t end there though, with Paul Kelly also announcing the release of his new greatest hits album, Songs From The South (1985-2019).

Joining previously released volumes from 1997 and 2008, this new collection will be released on November 15th, and feature tracks from Kelly’s most recent albums, including the chart-topping Life Is Fine.

Alongside the new release, Paul Kelly is also gearing up to release his new poetry book, Love Is Strong As Death, on November 18th, while his new classical album, 13 Ways To Look At Birds, will be unleashed on August 30th.

Tickets to Paul Kelly’s Making Gravy concert series will go on sale from Friday, August 23rd, while a number of pre-sales kick off in the preceding days. Read on for all the relevant details.
