Paul McCartney has teamed up with Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr for a big-name collaboration during Macca’s recent Los Angeles performance.

Back in April of 1970, music fans were given the news that after a decade as the biggest band in the world, The Beatles were calling quits. While tensions seemed high between members, fans were undoubtedly overjoyed to see the group’s members collaborate from time to time as the years went by.

While we saw the death of John Lennon in 1980, and the passing of George Harrison in 2001, surviving members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have remained best of friends, appearing alongside each other for recordings and live performances when time allows.

In fact, the last few years have seen Macca and Ringo reuniting on a song called ‘We’re On The Road Again’, and performing alongside The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood back in 2018.

Now, the pair have gotten together once again to deliver a couple of iconic Beatles tracks during a live show in Los Angeles.

Appearing at Dodger Stadium on Saturday night, Paul McCartney gave fans a relatively typical start to the show, but this tour-closer wasn’t going to end with anything less than a bang.

After returning for an encore that kicked things off with The Beatles’ ‘Birthday’, McCartney took a moment to address the crowd.

“We’ve got a surprise for us, a surprise for you, a surprise for everyone: Ladies and gentlemen, the one and only, Ringo Starr,” McCartney explained, before Starr appeared onstage, hugging Paul, and taking his place behind the drum kit.

Performing a rendition of the ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)’, Starr closed out his brief appearance with a version of the iconic ‘Helter Skelter’.

Amazingly though, while Ringo Starr was now done for the night, the guests didn’t stop there, with Joe Walsh of the Eagles appearing onstage to close the night off with guest appearances on ‘Carry That Weight’ and ‘The End’.

While Paul McCartney’s Australian tour in 2017 was a rousing success, fans didn’t quite get to see something of this magnitude. Here’s hoping Macca’s return to the country in the near future might include something as exciting as his Los Angeles fans experienced!
