Paul McCartney has announced expansive reissues of his first two albums with Wings. 1971’s Wild Life and 1973’s Red Rose Speedway will both be re-released in multiple disc formats, and a limited edition super deluxe boxset will house both the albums and a whole lot more across 11 discs.

Wings’ debut album Wild Life, will be released as a four-disc set (three CDs and one DVD), which feature bonus tracks, rare footage, as well as the original album. The release will also come with a 128-page book and a 48-page scrapbook.

The reissue of Red Rose Speedway comes as a six-disc set (three CDs, two DVDs, and one Blu-ray). It features “a reconstruction of the originally conceived double album version,” plus McCartney’s previously unreleased, partly-animated, concert film The Bruce McMouse Show. It also comes with a folio of character sketches for the film, a 128-page book, and a 64-page photobook.

The limited edition boxset features both these reissues as well as a brand new 20 track album of live takes from the 1972 Wings Over Europe tour. There’s also an extra photo book and a replicated Wings Over Europe tour program.

Paul McCartney released his 17th solo album Egypt Station last month, his first to reach number one in the USA in 36 years. He’s also announced a massive world tour behind it for 2019, no dates for Australia have been announced yet. The singer visited our shores at the end of last year for a huge stadium tour.

In recent months the McCartney has also announced a children’s book, and discussed an odd business idea he had with Keith Richards.

The reissues of Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway are out December 7th, you can pre-order them here. Check out a previously unreleased take of “Live And Let Die” off the latter below.
