KISS frontman Paul Stanley is the latest musician to share his thoughts on US gun violence, following yet another mass shooting over the weekend.
On Saturday, August 31st, the world was yet again shocked to hear of another mass shooting in America. Taking place in Odessa, Texas, the incident resulted in the death of eight victims, while another 19 were left injured.
Of course, the incident has resulted in a massive outpouring of the usual thoughts, prayers, and scapegoating that occurs as part of the usual cycle following a mass shooting.
Now, KISS frontman Paul Stanley has thrown his opinions into the ring, noting that “prayers and sympathy are not enough” when it comes to halting what appears to be an epidemic of gun violence.
“We don’t have more ‘crazy ‘ or ‘mentally unstable’ people in the US,” the rocker began. “What we DO have are commonplace mass shootings with automatic and semi-automatic high powered firearms.
“THAT cannot be disputed. Tell me what we and our government must do. Prayers and sympathy are not enough.”

I DON’T KNOW THE ANSWER but am asking for everyone’s thoughts. Anyone who thinks I should “stay in my lane” should leave now. This is MY house. If you DO have opinions why shouldn’t I? In this case I will leave up some of those dopey comments for your enjoyment. Not again. https://t.co/TDvYCLNVpf

Soon, Paul Stanley found himself the target of numerous commentators who claimed that he should stick to music instead of commenting on political matters.
“I DON’T KNOW THE ANSWER but am asking for everyone’s thoughts,” Stanley offered. “Anyone who thinks I should ‘stay in my lane’ should leave now. This is MY house.
“If you DO have opinions why shouldn’t I? In this case I will leave up some of those dopey comments for your enjoyment. Not again.”
Stanley’s comments come shortly after similar ones made by Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, who also took the time to lambast those that scapegoat music as a cause for these shootings.
“There are too many fucking guns in America,” Taylor explained. “I could walk outside right now and find a gun within minutes. There’s a very toxic gun culture here, it’s a cult, and it worries me.”
In related news, KISS are set to embark upon their final-ever visit of Australia later this year, with their End Of The Road tour making its way down to our shores in November.
