Pearl Jam are gearing up to hit the stage for the first time in three years for Eddie Vedder’s fifth annual Ohana Festival at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California.

The three-day music extravaganza had been postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic but is now confirmed to be returning with the majority of its original star-studded lineup, including a solo performance by Vedder himself.

It’ll be the first on-stage performance from Pearl Jam since September 4, 2018, at Boston’s Fenway Park, with the band’s 2020 European tour dates having been rescheduled for 2022.

Despite the spanner in the works, Pearl Jam still managed to delight fans during Covid-19 lockdown last year with a socially distanced performance of ‘Dance of the Clairvoyants’ from their latest album Gigaton as part of the All In WA: A Concert for COVID-19 Relief live stream event.

Ohana Festival will now take place on September 24-26, with the likes of Kings Of Leon, My Morning Jacket, Maggie Rogers, Brandi Carlile, Black Pumas, the Frames and Sharon Van Etten set to take the stage.

“Ohana comes down to the generosity of the man himself,” the Frames’ frontman, Glen Hansard, told Variety of the festival.

“Everybody on the bill, Ed chose. One of the things I love about Ed, and I feel similarly about the way I operate, is that you’d be surprised what music a guy in a worldwide successful rock band listens to.

“It wouldn’t necessarily be the music you think. Going along to Ohana illustrated how broad Ed’s taste is, and the cross-section of music that he was picking out of the sky.

He added: “It was great for me to be involved. I felt very welcomed. And I feel welcomed by Pearl Jam fans, which I don’t take for granted. It isn’t lost on me.”

Othe performers across the three days include Spoon, Yola, Mac DeMarco, Cold War Kids, Real Estate, Jade Bird, Durand Jones and the Indications, CAAMP and the Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon.
