Back in April, we ran a feature that covered 12 ways to make yourself an annoyance at a gig. Smack dab in the middle of our list was anyone that asks for the guest list. However, there is a corollary to this that makes you even more of a nuisance.

Don’t, under any circumstances, use the “I know the band” line. If you knew the band and they wanted you at the gig, they would’ve made the appropriate arrangements to have you there. The fact that they didn’t suggests that maybe they didn’t want you around.

That said, we have to give some serious props to David Spargo. ‘Who the hell is that?’ you ask, he’s only a close relative of Adam Hyde and/or Reuben Styles from Peking Duk. It’s true, just check out the duo’s Wikipedia page.

“Last night someone edited our Wikipedia page to say he was our family, showed security at our show, got into the green room and had a beer with the boys,” Peking Duk recently recounted on their Facebook page. “Spargo you legend.”

And we’ve gotta say, we agree with them. Whilst we could never officially condone sneaking into a backstage area at a gig, it sounds like Spargo earned this one. The Duk summed it up best with the immortal words of Ron Burgundy: “I’m not even mad, that’s amazing.”
