Well, well, well! One of the baddest boys in rock n’ roll – Pete Doherty – is set to team up with the daughter of France’s original music bad boy, Serge Gainsbourg, in a new film. The film is about 19th-century poet and dramatist Alfred de Musset, with Doherty set to take the lead role alongside Charlotte Gainsbourg, who will play one of his love interests in a bizarre love triangle.
Doherty says “the story is a love triangle, so it’s pretty intense and romantic. I don’t know if I’m a good actor, but they say I am.” Pete is indeed a very talented actor, because he’s managed to convince a multitude of judges in Britain to keep him out of jail on a veritable shitload of drug offences. Ironically, he’s now hanging out in Paris, aping his hero Oscar Wilde who died there in exile after being released from jail for sodomy offences in 1900.
Check out Charlotte’s old man – drunk as a skunk – telling Whitney Houston he wants to fuck her on French TV in 1986:
