Today in unexpected celebrity feuds, Phoebe Bridgers appears to have accidentally started beef with none other than Aussie band Jet.
Yep, it seems the band’s drummer has clashed with the queen of indie rock and look, we’re a little confused.
The situation all started when music publication Pitchfork posted a photo to Instagram promoting an article on the history of its Reviews section. The photo in question was a screenshot of a review of Jet’s 2006 album Shine On.
The review, which is still available on Pitchfork some 15 years later, consisted only of a rating of 0.0 for the record.
“Sometimes, there are no words,” Pitchfork captioned the image.

From there, Bridgers left a comment on the post claiming that she thinks about the scathing review “once a day”.
Although the comment was seemingly innocuous enough, it caught the attention of Jet drummer Chris Cester, who penned a detailed reply to Phoebe Bridgers.
“I think I saw you on SNL recently it was really cool…Did you smash your guitar or something? It was a huge statement. Dangerous 🔥,” he wrote.
“If you gave it to someone who had something to say it might have changed someone’s life…It’s tough out there best of luck to you 😀.”
Although we don’t claim to know exactly what Cester’s intentions were, it’s safe to say there was more than a little sarcasm involved in his clap back.
Meanwhile, Bridgers’ comment wasn’t the first time she has made mention of the review.
Way back in 2016, she posted a link to the review on Twitter along with the caption: “throwback to the best review of all time.”

While Bridgers has yet to respond to Cester’s comments, it’s safe to say we’ll be keeping a close eye on this decidedly random squabble.
