The excitement for the new album from the Pixies is undoubtedly growing, with the band releasing their latest single, ‘Catfish Kate’, earlier today.
Barely two months ago, alt-rock legends the Pixies announced that they would be releasing a brand new album this year.
Titled Beneath The Eyrie, the record marks the second album made by the group’s current lineup (Paz Lenchantin officially joined following Indie Cindy), and is set to be formally released on September 13th.
Releasing the record’s first single – ‘On Graveyard Hill’ – in June, the band also kicked off a new podcast that would help document the creation and recording of the new record.
Premiering on June 27th, the 12-part series features journalist Tony Fletcher as host, going behind the scenes with the band and premiering some new music along the way. Now, one of these tunes has been formally released, with its official music video dropping today.
Dubbed ‘Catfish Kate’, the new track comes paired with a mesmerising animated video by the Krank! Collective, who previously teamed up with the band on 2016’s ‘Tenement Song.’
In related news, the Pixies recently announced that they would be heading to Australia early next year for the first time since 2017.
Bringing their Come On Pilgrim… It’s Surfer Rosa tour down under, fans will get a chance to hear the band perform their first two records, showcasing why they are one of the most acclaimed and respected alt-rock outfits of all time.
