That call him the South Arlington sign slayer, and all he does all day is stand at a intersection, listen to metal music, and headbang, while holding a pizza-board displaying the local slice specials.
It’s a pretty sweet way to get paid, get noticed, and get in your Cannibal Corpse time, too. And now Michael Hildreth is not only a local celebrity, but a model employee, as his antics raised profit at his local Papa Murphy’s by 40% – within his first month of rockin’ out.
Pretty awesome result, considering he was banished to pizza-board duty as a punishment.
“I kept showing up late for work over the course of about a month, a month and a half or something,” Hildreth tells CBS. “My boss got a little irritated with me, so he sent me outside as a punishment.”
The headbanging was his own touch.
“I don’t like the idea of being bored while you’re working.”
For the record, he is cranking the classics while working: Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer.
