It was a photo finish byt the Port Fairy Folk Music Festival 2012 is now sold out with three days to go.

Festival Director, Jamie McKew said “This is a brilliant result! To sell out a festival is a huge challenge, a huge vote for live music and a fantastic effort by the committee, staff, crews and hundreds of volunteers. We have a sensational location, a line-up of great artists and we look forward to a sharing an amazing weekend of culture and music.”

Port Fairy is one of the major folk and roots music festivals on the world circuits and well known on the international stage. The Port Fairy line up produces an incredible range of music across the borders of folk, roots and beyond including Clare Bowditch, Eagle & The Worm, John Butler, Jeff Lang, and Judy Collins amongst others.

The festival will present a special “Lifetime Achievement in Music Awards” to Danny Spooner this weekend for his 50 years performing as a folk musician and his performances at every Port Fairy since 1977.

As well as the many incredible acts staged over the 4 days of the festival, Port Fairy is excited to play host to a range of special events and some weird and wacky happenings including a professional development seminar held by Music Victoria and a series of comedians doing shows for Port Fairy Comedy.
