We’ve got a searing dose of punk rock for you to kick the week off, the brand new single ‘Bad Monkey’ from Sydney outfit Black Heart Breakers, taken from their forthcoming EP ‘Wasted’.
The track gives us an idea of the raucous blend of pop and punk we can expect from the new record, which drops this Wednesday on Cottonmouth Records and serves as a follow-up to their self-titled debut album. If ‘Bad Monkey’ and recent jam ‘Falling Down’ are any indication, we’re in for plenty more fearsome riffs mingling with some absolute Ramones-esque earworm choruses – not to mention the fantastic throwback album art below.

The frantic pace isn’t confined to the songs themselves, either, and the Black Heart boys have been busy in the leadup to the new record, touring Australia twice in the last nine months off the back of their double-A-side ‘I Want You‘/’Barbara Ann‘, supporting some killer bands in Stiff Little Fingers, Radio Birdman and the UK’s Ruts DC.
You’ll be able to crank the whole EP when it drops this Wednesday Feb 15th, and you can pick up a full-size vinyl copy of this glorious cover art at one of the stops on the ‘Wasted’ launch tour, or order a copy right now through Cottonmouth records. The tour kicks off this Friday in Sydney and carries on through March – dates and more info below.
