One of favourite local blues crews, Melbourne duo The New Savages are gearing up to release their second EP entitled Goin’ Over The River.

Goin’ Over The River is the result of The New Savages’ relentless touring schedule, the duo honed all these songs on tiny stages around Australia. The band kept this live energy on the new EP recorded it, live, in a tiny sweaty shed turned recording studio in Melbourne’s inner north suburb, Preston.

It’s another dark record which we’re come to love and expect from the band. Combining the endless hypnotic grooves of Mississippi’s Blues Juke Joints with the raw, spiritual power of early 20th century gospel music in the context of Melbourne’s live music scene it’s a fresh take on classic blues.

To celebrate the release of the EP the guys will be embarking on a 24 date national tour of Australia, hitting up VIC, NSW, SA, QLD and TAS.
