It’s been all quiet on the Caiti Baker front, but that silence looks to be forever broken with the Darwin sonic alchemist sharing the first sample of her new wears. ‘Gone’ is a glimpse of the returned Caiti Baker, who holds the track high above her head having once and for all emerged from her studio hibernation.

‘Gone’ is a woozy but striking number from Baker, who has spent much of the time since the release of her 2017 debut album Zinc, reimagining her purpose as an artist. Baker has breached the other side as a far more realised and free creative soul, ready to let the wild horses run as we see with today’s premiere.

With naught but a delicately cascading piano and a minimal flurry of beats and bops, ‘Gone’ draws your attention to its stunning vocal line, one that tells the tale of ending one journey to begin another, or as Baker explains “The song is a rebirth. For something to be born, something has to die.”

As she enters unchartered waters as an artist, Baker is joined by her collaborative partners SixFour as well as a new-found collaborator in creative firebrand Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore who’s accolades include Her Sound Her Story. We can expect to enjoy the fruits of their collab in the coming future with two music videos expected to drop.

As well as the videos, fans can expect to sink their teeth into forthcoming EP, Dust (Part 1) which has been given the tentative release date of early 2020. ‘Gone’ sets the tone for the great release as Baker cuts ties with her old creative penchants in order for new ones to grow.

Premiering today on Tone Deaf, ‘Gone’ is out officially available far and wide on Friday, 6th September
