Melbourne songwriter/ singer/ producer Coach Bombay (aka Terry Mann) is on the cusp of releasing a very ambitious but also ridiculously fun project entitled Orinoco.
Orinoco is a five track covers EP which follows the following themes: All original songs were sung by women; released between 1988 – 1999 (Coach Bombay’s childhood); and in most cases, themes of travel and adventure.
Today we’re premiering one of the tracks, it’s a single so ubiquitous it’s embedded in almost everyone’s psyche whether or not you’ve even actively listened to it, also it’s the inspiration behind the EP title, sometimes when you hear it you just want to ‘sail away, sail away sail away’… Yep it’s ‘Orinoco Flow (Sail Away)’ by Irish musical/ New Age/ Ambient icon Enya.
Having created infectious and sweet electropop music under the moniker Coach Bombay since late 2009, Mann has released two Eps, two LPs, garnered acclaim across the country (including love from triple j) and been played on national TV.
The Orinoco EP, which features killer cover art created by talented designer Jess Ramsey will be out before the Summer is over. For more info stay locked to Coach Bombay on Facebook.
