Central West NSW musician Gaudion is back with another stunning track, sharing his amazing new single ‘TV Shows’ today.

If you’ve been lucky enough to catch Jack Gaudion busking along the eastern coast of Australia, then you’d already have an idea of what makes him special. If you’ve been lucky enough to hear his debut songs ‘Feel Like Clarity’ and ‘Animal’, then you’d probably be wondering how he’s not already a household name.

Thankfully, we can say with certainty that such a day is on its way, with Gaudion releasing his new single ‘TV Shows’ on April 1st.

A summery, folky affair that serves as a reflection upon love and loss, Gaudion’s latest track is undoubtedly one for those who love their music featuring guitars, soulful lyrics, and the skill to leave it bouncing around in your head for hours after the fact.

Reminiscent of artists like Dean Lewis and Ziggy Alberts, ‘TV Shows’ is a perfect accompaniment to those summer nights that you never want to end.

“‘TV Shows’ is a small part of my life,” Gaudion explains of the track. “I began writing the tune when I was working on a small farm in a rural area in Canada’s Saskatchewan. In this place I was turbulent. I never knew what I wanted to do. So I taught myself to play guitar and sing inside a grain silo every day after work.

“I was also going through a difficult stage of adolescence; through this song I was aiming to express my current feelings with music. Every time I’d think of the things I was going through I’d write a little bit more of the song.

“It’s not the first song I ever wrote, and definitely not the last, but it holds a long journey of my emotions, my memories and my thoughts.”

Undoubtedly a powerful number that will stay with you for quite some time, the track is just the latest teaser from Gaudion ahead of the release of his debut EP. Speaking of the inspiration for his love of playing, Gaudion notes that he’s a keen carpenter who also crafted his own guitar from scratch, with a keen in interest in playing soon following.

“I love building and creating things with my hands, I find it very rewarding and exciting,” he explains. “A few years back I built an acoustic guitar from scratch. She’s a medium sized dreadnaught made from Tasmanian blackwood (back and sides), sitka spruce (top), mahogany (neck) and Indian rosewood (features). Her name is Grace, and I play her every day!

“Everything happens for a reason, and after building this guitar I became a lot more interested in playing.”

While ‘TV Shows’ drops on April 1st, Gaudion is undoubtedly as disappointed as the rest of us that he’s unable to perform live shows or busk for his fans. However, when one door closes, another opens, and that window is one on your browser, which is where you’ll catch him playing two live-streamed performances via YouTube.

“All we have seen happen to the world over the past months due to COVID-19 has been devastating,” he explains. “In our industry, all shows have been cancelled, jobs have been lost and artists are genuinely scared of the carryover effects that this virus will have.

“I feel the need to keep moving forward and I’m also in a position to brighten peoples’ days through sharing my music, so I feel very fortunate. I am excited to be performing two YouTube livestream performances to celebrate the release of this song.”

The first of these performances takes place on April 2nd, and the second takes place on April 30th. Read on to give ‘TV Shows’ a sneaky listen, and for more info regarding these livestreams.
