Following on from a huge September after the launch of their killer ‘Slowly / I Want It All’’ single and launch of their own label Wyall Style – lo-fi indie pop dreamers Frida have just announced three week Monday night residency at The Workers Club this October.
An imprint of the established independent funk/soul label HopeStreet Recordings, the new Wyall Style label was born as an artist run collective of musicians based out of a house on Wyall St, Brunswick West.
Made up from the brainchild of the artists behind Frida, many of whom also key members of cinematic soul institution The Cactus Channel, Wyall Style is Shining a light on the best local pop, electronic, funk, indie and everything in between. To celebrate the launch of the label (and upcoming Frida residency) the crew has given us a taster of what to expect with this Welcome 2 Wyall Mixtape #1.
