Having cut their teeth performing wild live shows locally, Melbourne garage pop four piece Gunslingers have today released their blistering LP DJANGUS.
Sounding like the love child of California punks Wavvves and the legendary Dick Dale being brought up listening to Weezer, Gunslingers have produced an impressive barrage of pumped-up garage psych gems perfect for sweaty beer-washed mosh pits.
Recorded by Paul Maybury (King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard) and mastered by Andrei Eremin (Chet Faker, Closure In Moscow), DJANGUS is brimming with urgent love songs – from the Ramones-style pop of ‘Black Hole Eyes’ to ‘Megatsunami’s cascading drum rolls and crashing guitars.
Released independently today April 10th via iTunes and Bandcamp, this LP is the perfect antidote to the imprinting winter induced seasonal depression. The band will launch the new album on their upcoming East Coast tour, with dates to be announced soon, keep you eye on the band’s Facebook page for more info.
