Indie-pop singer Medley is presenting her first new song and video of the year, the emotion evoking ‘Everybody’s Everything’.

Also known as Cleo Howman, ‘Everybody’s Everything’ marks her first release under Fight Night Records. With her dreamy vocals able to instantly set the mood, her newest song exhibits the strength it takes to be in a relationship that is on a downward spiral with the wrong partner.

‘Everybody’s Everything’ focuses on the tireless effort one can put into a relationship, only to realise that the relationship is a dead end, and that you can’t be everything that a person wants. While delivering the dark lyrics, Medley is able to keep the listeners entranced with her angelic voice.

Working alongside Fight Night in Abbotsford, VIC with the company of Harley, Del Stewart, and Paul Blakey, Medley’s team helped her to branch out into an entirely different sound for this latest song.

“Fight Night Records is a lawless inner city haven for making dynamite records. I started working out of Fight Night at the beginning of 2019 and it’s my second home, my safe space,” Medley stated. “If there was a zombie apocalypse, I would run to the attic of FightNight and watch the end of the world.”

As for her thoughts on the song itself, the singer-songwriter commented, “Everybody’s Everything’ is about a relationship that I was trapped in for some time, that made me feel like I was never enough.”

“I found myself trying so hard to live up to this person’s expectation of me, but always failing and eventually realised that I had to break free of their mental hold and exorcise that experience into a song so I could move on.”

Moving this song to a visual stance, Medley worked with Singapore-based filmmakers Rudy Lau and Jake Low. Made in Northcote, the music video transports the viewer into what it’s like to be in a dysfunctional relationship. From exhibiting violence, money issues, and much more, the video visits the darkest and most intimate parts of a having an unsuitable partner.

“The perspectives of Medley that cuts in between the narrative and performance scenes all converge towards the end. What’s so unique about this project was the break in between the track – an intense confrontation between two vital characters of the story,” commented Low.

The song is set to release on Friday, February 28th, but you can catch the new video below.
