Back in 2016, Aussie music fans were given their first chance to meet Nighthawk, the new project from former members of Motor Ace. Now, 18 months after the release of their first single, the group have dropped the brand new video for their latest single, ‘Right Time’.

When Nighthawk first came on the scene in 2016, fans were excited at the prospect of new music from Motor Ace’s Patrick Robertson and Damian Costin. Powered by the addition of Flynn Wheeler and Rhys Thompson, Nighthawk’s music is a bit of a departure from the ferocious alt-rock delivered by Motor Ace, but it still features the same dedication and talent that has always permeated their music.

“Nighthawk comes from a very different place. It was a party before it was a band,” said Patrick Robertson at the time. “There’s a simplicity about the music and the attitude. I haven’t felt as excited about a group of musicians and making music for a very long time. I think you can hear it.”

Now, following on from the success of previous singles, ‘Surely Gettin’ On’ and ‘Wire’, the group have just recently dropped their third single, ‘Right Time’, and they’re proud as punch to be releasing the stellar single’s accompanying clip.

Showcasing the band in their natural element as they perform the track, the group might be cloaked in darkness during the clip, but the energy of their powerful music manages to shine through.

Serving as somewhat of an updated homage of sorts to some of the classic ’80s music videos that have inspired Nighthawk’s self-described “yacht rock” sound, the clip matches the track’s vibrant and refreshing aesthetic.

While Nighthawk are still hard at work putting the finishing touches on their long-awaited debut album, the group will also be hitting the live stage once again at Melbourne’s Cherry Bar on May 25th, giving eager fans the chance to see them perform their stunning tunes on their home turf of the live stage.
