Having already released two highly acclaimed albums (2010’s Stones & Sticks and 2012’s Hand Me Downs) Brisbane party/ ska rockers Cheap Fakes are planning on making 2015 their biggest year yet.
Kicking off the year with their catchy single ‘Just In Case’ the six piece have dropped the video accompaniment to the single. Not only is it some of their most imparessive work yetm it’s also the first cut from the band’s anticipated third album Modern Vintage. Recorded with Grammy nominated producer John Merchant best known for his work with Michael Jackson, Lenny Kravitz, Bee Gees and Barbara Streisand, Modern Vintage is set for release in June.
Cheap Fakes guitarist and vocalist Hayden Andrews retells the recording process “working with John was really good because he wanted us to maintain who we were as a band. He allowed us to do our thing; then zoomed in when we were doing all the overdubs and really began to put his producer stamp on it, making it sound really full and huge in the big moments but also gentle in the breakdown parts.”
