Post-indie band Melbourne band Osaka are on fire, following their debut EP Manoeuvres with a slick new clip for single ‘Weights’ – a slight change of direction from the band’s bread and butter, but staying true to the mantra of indie music for sweaty, underground gigs.

The new vid boasts a wonderfully grimy aesthetic, opening in a dank basement and moving slowly through equally grungy streets, but the track itself is positively gleaming with slick riffs and singalong melodies.

“It talks about carrying someone or something’s weight,” say the young trio, each under 20 years of age, “and what would happen if you just allowed the weight to crush you? Or if you gave up on why you carried it.”

For such a young band, they’re off to a great start, and should now be more concerned with the weight of expectation leading into their next release. Until then, Manouevres is out now, and they’ll be able to do their thing on the live stage as they launch the EP in dark rooms across the country (dates below).
