Do you like your indie-pop anthems peppered with a bit of soul to help navigate the heartbreak? The Melbourne’s The Run have got the tune for you, serving up the gorgeous ‘Missing Out On’.

Back in 2017, music-lovers were treated to ‘Everything You Want’, a slick track from Victorian three-piece The Run. Before long, the trio had found a humble following, with fans eager to hear more of what the sound they describe as “funky sorta souly sorta pop”.

Now, after spending time in the studio with Ezekiel Fenn and Michael Best (Entente Music, Big Creature), The Run have returned with their brand new single, the gorgeously soulful ‘Missing Out On’.

Featuring the smooth vocals of Connor Morel at the front of it all, the lyrics to ‘Missing Out On’ speak of love lost and strength gained as we hear the musical catharsis to a heartbreak. All the while, Will Conway and Sab Rawson deftly dish out the smooth drums, bass, and backing vocals, giving this slick tune a sound that stays with you for hours.

“Recording the single was probably the most caffeinated week I’ve had on planet Earth and I don’t regret a thing,” explained Conway. “It was super nerve-racking (this song’s been floating around for about a year and a half now) so trying to make sure we ‘got it right’ was something that was really important to us.”

“This year has been our best one yet with people really loving what we’re doing and really wanting new material from us. ‘Missing Out On’ is our way of giving back and thanking people for their reception to our music.”

To celebrate the release of the track (which officially drops on Friday, August 30th), The Run are gearing up to hold a single launch show at Collingwood’s Gasometer Hotel next month.

Supported by Benjamin Trillado and Tess Guthrie, tickets are on sale now, so don’t miss your chance to hear this gorgeous track making its presence felt on the live stage.
