It is only right that we usher in a new decade to the sound of Prince. The Prince Estate has just unveiled plans to release a deluxe reissue of ‘1999’.
The reissue of the seminal 1982 record will be remastered for the first time ever, and include 35 previously unreleased tracks curated from the fabled vault. The reissue will be spread across 5 CD/1DVD and 10LP/1DVD. It is set to feature a slew of B-sides, remixes and the aforementioned 35 unreleased tracks.
The release will also be accompanied with two full concerts from the 1999 tour — from November 30, 1982 in Detroit and December 29th, 1982 in Houston. It will also come with a stunning booklet featuring liner notes, rare photographs and hand-written lyrics from Prince himself.
