The tweet was sent out by Jeremiah Freed a longtime associate of Prince and his estate, and was supported by the late singers family. “The Prince Estate has never given permission to President Trump or the White House to use Prince’s songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately.” reads the statement.
Back in 2o15 Tom Petty denounced Trump’s use of “Rockin’ In The Free World” at rallies during his presidential campaign. Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler recently sent a cease and desist to Trump over the use of tracks by the band at rallies.
