After teasing fans for months by being completely non committal as to whether they were even going to make an album, Radiohead have come out with the sudden news that they’re releasing a new long player this Saturday 19th of February. Entitled The King of Limbs, the album will be available for download from the band’s website and then will be released physically almost three months later in May.
Unlike 2007’s In Rainbows, fans will have to pay for an official version of the album, but the band are releasing it in formats which vary in cost; with an mp3 version the cheapest, followed by a .wav file version and then the most expensive format being a CD in fancy packaging and vinyl. The title of the album is believed to refer to a 1000 year old tree in the Savenake Forest located in Wiltshire in the UK, nearby to a stately home in which the band recorded part of In Rainbows.
