After what feels like an age of teasing, German heavy metal icons Rammstein have announced their first new record in ten years. They have also shared the lead single from the album, ‘Deutschland’.

Rammstein has also shared an epic 10-minute accompanying music video for ‘Deutschland’. The Specter Berlin directed clip explores various incidents of violence throughout human history. It covers everything from bare-knuckle boxing to the Holocaust. It’s gruesome as all hell so don’t watch it if you’ve got a weak stomach. If you think you’re up for it, check it out below.

The band have announced that their seventh record, Rammstein, will arrive on May 17 through Spinefarm. The album is produced by Olsen Involtini (of Emigrate) and the band. It is their first full-length since 2009’s Liebe Ist Für Alle Da. Pre-order the album here.

Yesterday, the band came under fire for the promotional video for ‘Deutschland.’ The band were criticised by Jewish leaders for trivialising the Holocaust. Charlotte Knobloch, a Holocaust survivor and former president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany shared that “the instrumentalization and trivialization of the Holocaust, as shown in the images, is irresponsible.” Read more about it now.
