Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann has been accused of assaulting a bar patron following an argument in Germany last week.

Last month, Rammstein returned from a decade-long period of silence with their long-awaited seventh album. To celebrate, the group kicked off their first headline tour in two years, embarking on a stadium tour of Europe.

Performing in Germany, Spain, and Switzerland, last week saw the group returning to their home country, with June 8th seeing Rammstein perform the first of two concerts in Munich.

However, Deutsche Welle reports that following the evening’s performance, Rammstein vocalist Till Lindemann allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation with a bar patron at the Bayerischer Hof luxury hotel.

The incident appears to have turned physical though, with local police confirming that the incident took place, but offering no details in regards to how the victim was left with a bleeding nose.

In a statement offered up to Bild (via Blabbermouth), a woman identified as Lana claimed that she had been with Lindemann at the time of the incident, explaining that the victim “said to me in English, ‘I would pay double for you.'”

After asking the victim if he had referred to his girlfriend as a prostitute, Lindemann reportedly elbowed the man in the face, leaving him with what has been described as a bloody nose and a broken jaw.

Speaking to the same publication, Sophia Thomalla – a model and former girlfriend of Till Lindemann – came to the Rammstein frontman’s defence, noting that “Till is the most polite person I know.”

“I have no idea what happened to upset him,” she added, “but if he snapped, his reaction was justified.”

In related news, there is no word yet as to whether or not Rammstein will be making their long-awaited return to Australia in support of their latest album. However, considering they were last here in 2011, we’d say they’re due for a visit.
