It’s basically been a whole ten years since Rebecca Black turned the music industry on its head with ‘Friday’.
Whatever your stance was on the song, you can’t deny that it didn’t get stuck in your head – multiple times. It was (and still is) bloody catchy.
After all, it currently boasts 149 million views on YouTube alone.
While those ‘It’s Friday, Friday, gettin’ down on Friday’, lyrics may have been stored somewhere in your long-term memory or just totally deleted, we’re here to tell you that those lyrics are about to get stuck in your head all over again.
Why’s that? Rebecca Black is back, celebrating the ten-year anniversary of ‘Friday’. And she’s reviving it as a collaborative remix.
Black first teased the news of the remix via her social media while keeping the featured artists under wraps, but now that the song is out, we can confirm that it features artists Dorian Electra, Big Freedia and 3OH!3!.

Black told Paper Magazine, “I’d had the idea to do this remix of ‘Friday’ for years leading up to now, but honestly it was also mildly insane for me to think anyone else would want to be a part of it.”
She continued, “As I started talking about it with other artists and producers, I couldn’t believe how stoked people were about it. I am thrilled to have some of my favourite artists (and people) as a part of the moment.”
This isn’t Black’s first release since ‘Friday’ in 2010. She’s released a number of singles including ‘Sweetheart’, ‘Girlfriend’
The ‘Friday’ remix has totally revamped the original track, with each artist bringing their own style, making it one big party.
It straddles the line of taking us back to the 2010 era from which the track originates, while giving it a solid refresher at the same time. Oh yes, the nostalgia is real.
