This April will see the Commonwealth Games hit the Gold Coast for the 21st edition of the sporting event. However, when it comes to the entertainment side of things, Queensland aren’t just going to trot out a 30-year-old Nikki Webster to help keep folks excited. No, they’ve got something even better up their sleeve.
Yes, this April will see Festival 2018 descend upon Queensland, with events taking place all over the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Cairns, and Townsville, turning the state into an all-out festival for just under two weeks.
In addition to plenty of varying forms of entertainment, including theatre, film, family fun, visual arts, and dance, there’s a pretty hefty list of musical performers hitting up Festival 2018 too.
Kicking off the proceedings on April 4th in Amy Shark, who will help to open this year’s event, while The Cat Empire also serenade fans with their beloved jazz stylings.
As Festival 2018 proceeds though, more musicians join the fold, including Regurgitator, Kev Carmody, Urthboy, The Jungle Giants, Abbe May, Alex The Astronaut, Stella Donnelly, The Creases, The Preatures, Caiti Baker, Archie Roach, Diesel, Troy Cassar-Daly, Airling, Lior, Bob Evans, Coloured Stone, and so much more.
Oh, and did we happen to mention that all these shows are free? That’s right, leave the wallet at home, because you’re going to be rocking out until the early hours of the morning with some of Australia’s finest musicians bringing you some amazing sets of past, present, and future classic jams.
Festival 2018 is all set to kick off on April 4th and will run until April 15th. For more information, including dates, locations, and other info, be sure to hit up the Festival 2018 website, and start planning your course of action for the event.
