After releasing The Headphone Masterpiece in 2002, Atlanta born Chesnutt was touted by Rolling Stone as a “new breed of American troubadour’”with his honest, emotional delivery earning him that acclaim.

Now, following a ten year break, Chesnutt has returned with a career-defining album that will no doubt re-ignite the hype.

Album opener ‘Til I Met Thee’ is a beautiful, summery and harmonious affirmation of love. With lyrics like “I was a dead man/ I was asleep./I was a stranger in a foreign land, until I met thee” it’s hard not to bob your head like only a white guy can. ‘

Recorded in the same studio that Al Green laid down ‘Let’s Stay Together’, Chesnutt and his 10-piece band give the listener an education in soul and R’n’B.
