A Sydney concert descended into violence last night following an ugly brawl, prompting police riot squad officers to move in and disperse more than 2,000 fans, who’d just watched a performance by US rappers YG and Ty Dolla Sign at the Enmore Theatre.
According to The Daily Telegraph, police made several arrests and several people were taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Early reports claimed a 24-year-old man was charged with indecently assaulting a 15-year-old girl, though this was unrelated to the brawl outside.
According to a NSW Police media release, a man is set to appear in Newtown Local Court today after he was charged with the indecent assault of a teenager. Police reportedly attended the Enmore Theatre at about 7pm last night when a girl approached police, telling them that she’d been indecently assaulted.

The brawl, meanwhile, reportedly broke out as fans were leaving the venue, at about 11pm. It is not clear what precipitated the violence, with a police spokesperson telling Music Feeds that victims interviewed after the incident were unwilling to supply police with details.
The aftermath of the violence was documented on social media, with several images of police and crowds of punters gathered outside the famous Sydney venue surfacing on Twitter. Meanwhile, some local residents have criticised “some of the events that the Enmore Theatre is prepared to book”.
The Enmore performance was the last stop on Ty Dolla Sign’s first tour of Australia, having previously visited Perth, Brisbane, and Melbourne. Joining him was Compton rapper YG, best known for his single ‘My Nigga’ and ‘Don’t Tell ‘Em’, his collaboration with Jeremih.
