Trump supporters have stormed Capitol Hill where Congress had gathered to confirm Joe Biden’s election victory, shocking rockers everywhere.

Despite Trump’s best and futile efforts at trying to overturn the 2020 U.S. presidential election results, he’s going to be vacating the White House in a few weeks time when Joe Biden steps in as the next U.S. president.

However, things have taken a turn for the violent as thousands of Trump supporters have gathered on the grounds of Capitol Hill, where Congress has gathered to certify the 2020 U.S. election results, in protest and clashing with police.

After some incendiary tweets from Trump, the protests quickly escalated as several Trump supporters managed to breach the barricades and stormed the Capitol building, forcing the members of Congress and staffers who were present inside to evacuate (as per AP News).

As this act of domestic terrorism is unfolding, president-elect Biden has called on Trump to step in and demand an end to the seige, tweeting: “I call on President Trump to go on national television now to fulfill his oath and defend the Constitution by demanding an end to this siege.”

In response to the madness, Trump shared a lie-filled video (which we won’t embed or share here as it’s filled with misinformation) addressing his supporters in which he refused to condemn all the protesters who stormed the Capitol, all while continuing to double down on his false narrative about how the election was stolen (it wasn’t).

At the time of writing, the Senate has been evacuated with Vice President Mike Pence being taken to a secure location, the National Guard has been activated, and one person has been shot and is in critical condition as Trump supporters continue to clash with Capitol Hill police. Further more, it’s been reported by NBC News that at least one improvised explosive device has been found on the grounds.

Needless to say that this act of domestic terrorism has shocked the world and rockers like Tom Morello, Tommy Lee, Paul Stanley, and several others have taken to Twitter to express their shock at the “insanity” that’s happening.
